Frequently asked questions

Which one is better, Granite or Quartz?

  • Both stones are excellent products for countertops and other applications; either one will last a lifetime.  The difference, however, is that Granite has the uniqueness and beauty that can't be duplicated, but it's a porous material and needs maintenance; On the other hand, Quartz has consistent design, and is Stain, and Scratch resistance, No maintenance at all.

Why are natural stone tops sealed?

  • Sealing is a common step taken on some stones as an extra precaution against staining.  Granite  is sealed with a silicone based sealer to help prevent staining and water infiltration into the stone.
  • Quartz does not need to be sealed.

How do I maintain my granite/natural stone countertop?

  • We recommend sealing your Granite Countertops annually.
  • Clean your natural stone tops with anti-bacterial soap and water.  Natural stone cleaners are available for purchase, but soap and water works best.
  • Quartz Countertops DOESN'T need to be sealed, EVER!!

Will my granite or quartz countertop have a seams?

  • Most stone countertops installations will require at least one or more joints (seams).  During layout and design, we try to minimize the number of seams required.

What is the time frame of a kitchen counter installation?

  • Every job is unique, so there are a number of factors to consider before we can provide a solid time frame.
  • Once templates have been taken, it could take about 1-2 weeks to get your countertops under normal circumstances.
  • The availability of faucets, cook-tops, and sinks on-site during the Template step; these may cause some delays.
