Frequently asked questions

Which one is better, granite or quartz?

  • Both stones are excellent products for countertops and other applications; either one will last a lifetime.  The difference, however, is that natural stones (granite) have the uniqueness and beauty that can't be duplicated; quartz has consistent design.

Why are natural stone tops sealed?

  • Sealing is a common step taken on some stones as an extra precaution against staining.  The natural is sealed with a silicone based sealer to help prevent staining and water infiltration into the stone.
  • Quartz does not need to be sealed.

How do I maintain my granite/natural stone countertop?

  • We recommend sealing your countertops annually.
  • Clean your natural stone tops with anti-bacterial soap and water.  Natural stone cleaners are available for purchase, but soap and water works best.

Will my granite countertop have visible seams?

  • Most granite installations will require at least one or more joints (seams).  During layout and design, we try to minimize the number of seams required.

What is the time frame of a kitchen counter installation?

  • Every job is unique, so there are a number of factors to consider before we can provide a solid time frame.
  • Once templates have been taken, it could take about 1-2 weeks to get your countertops under normal circumstances.
  • The availability of faucets, cook-tops, and sinks on-site during the templating step; these may cause some delays.
  • An average kitchen takes approximately four hours to install.

What are the benefits of edge profiles?

  • It's the difference between a nice looking countertop and a fantastic looking countertop.
  • We provide eight choices; some (like the standard edge) have no extra cost.
  • An edge profile can make an impact when it comes to cleaning liquid spills, crumbs, and other other messes you haven't thought of.
  • Some edges also provide an softer chiseled edge, helping to avoid injuries.

Which form of payment do you accept?

  • We accept payments by cheque, credit cards, or e-transfers.
